Bird’s Eye View

A rewarding pair of shots from a training flight today that we were using to reacquiant ourselves with the zoom capabilities on one of our platforms.

Truth be told looking at the monitor we thought the Jackdaw was a shadow being cast on the inner wall of the nest and got the very pleasing shot when we zoomed in to see such a beautiful bird in its natural habitat.

One of the most pleasing aspects of this picture sequence, for us, is that having accidentally happened upon a bird in its nest we were able to maintain a distance that the accidental star of the picture was unruffled both literally and metaphorically by our aircraft holding station some distance above it.
