Gorgeous day weather-wise; temperatures that needed no jacket, good sunlight, hardly a whisper of breeze in the air, absolutely perfect conditions for a hyperlapse. The town centre of Somersham in Cambridgeshire provided the ideal location for a wee bit of lunchtime hyperlapsing. 50m altitude, manual camera, 2s intervals, jpeg only.

GPSS Sawtry is a fascinating place. Part of the old Government Pipelines & Storage System, itself a fascinating subject to read up on, this area has lain unattended and rewilding for a few years now. We were interested to take a closer aerial view of the site so while we had this timelapse recording somewhere out there (you may see it flit by in one or two frames) is our drone at 40m AGL following the pre-programmed flight pattern snapping the 904 pictures we stitched together into a single large high resolution picture of the site. If you google search there's a couple of threads from people that have gone exploring there back in 2019 but since then the area has been sealed up a bit better and there are 3 Videoguard 360 Armadillo sensor robots installed now which, we assume, to be active. Serendipitous timing of the unloading of a digger to begin the work at Rose Homes' Somersham development.<br /><br />Speaking to the site manager today, hi Dave, that work begins tomorrow so there should be ample opportunities for more overhead footage as the site develops.
